Is it good practice to have links to open in a new tab?

Postby fable666 » Mon Jan 25, 2016 12:34 pm

Hello

Would it be good practice to have my affiliate links open in a separate tab or doesn't it matter?

Cheers
Looking for a bike rack? Then come on over to the #1 Site For Bike Rack Reviews and have a look to see what you could have missed reading other review sites. What are you waiting for? what have you got to lose? Come take a look....

If the link goes to another page or post on your site, then you don't have to open a new window as the visitor is not leaving your website. If the link is taking the visitor to say an offer landing page or someone else's website, then yes open another window so your visitor can get back to your site.

There are of course some special circumstances where you might want to open a second window on your site, but you won't know that until the site is build and you go through it and decide whether or not to open to another window.
