Can you rely on just content for traffic and ranking?

Hi all,

If there is someone like myself that has no back links and still learning how to create these back links, decided not to create them as it maybe very time consuming. Could the content alone on a website be relied on for getting traffic and ranking in google?

Many thanks

Only if you are going for PPC traffic or social media traffic. If you are trying for ranking in the search engine results pages, then their is much more you have to do. But one good start is have the "all-in-one-seo pack" plug in your "Yoast" plugin (this is the one I'm now using on all my sites) installed on your website. Both are free and you can download them from

Also on you home page, scroll down to the last have of your edit page. Their you will see a snippet of what will appear in the search result pages. You can edit the title and description. If your title and description doesn't make since, then no one is going to click on your snippet and go to your website. - Even if you are ranked #1 in Google, Bing.

This information is just the tip of the SEO iceberg and the subject is way to involved here. But Google has excellent articles on this subject in their forums. Note Google does not put a lot of envases on Keywords any more. And they also don't look at backlinks like they used too. Result is that they catch up the backlinking farming.

Yes, but at some stage you will need to make some quality backlinks we can rely completely on content if it comes to generate traffic from search engines because for rankings we need to have both content and backlinks as well.

Absolutely no chance you will need back links to rank the content that you are composing, it will go useless if you just compose it and do nothing.
